Lights built for one house, not a stock display
A holiday display reads as intentional when it is laid out for the actual lines of the house in front of it: the pitch of the roof, where the dormers sit, the specific trees in the yard. A string of lights stapled on wherever the gutter allows rarely comes together the same way.

When a strand goes out
Any string of lights left up through a Texas winter can lose a strand mid season. A connector works loose, or weather finds its way into a socket. What matters most at that point is whether the actual fault gets found, rather than the whole run being swapped out and the same problem showing up again later.
Brian Dill described exactly that in his Google review: a strand had gone out on his display, the crew came out the next day, and Blaine did not stop until he found the fault.

Landscape lights, and lights that never come down
