Chapter 01
When a mower is the wrong tool
A rotary mower is built for turf, not for what grows on the bank of a retention pond, along a back fence line that has not been touched in a season, or across an acre that has gone from lawn to brush. Push that kind of ground through a mower deck and the machine loses, usually before the ground does.
That is the point where a skid steer, a brush hog or a forestry mulcher takes over. They are built to move through overgrowth, root balls and uneven acreage that a mower would just bog down in, whether the job is a single Fort Worth property or a stretch of commercial or municipal ground.

What the machine work covers
Hoyer's offers six machine services: Retention Pond mowing, Excavation, Skid Steer work, Brush Hogging, Forestry Mulching, and Dirtwork. Call with what the site looks like and what you need done.
These are heavier jobs than a weekly mowing visit: retention ponds, brush, excavation and dirtwork rather than a lawn.
Chapter 03
Dirtwork before the landscape
Grading has to happen before anything else goes in. New sod laid over ground that has not been shaped correctly ponds in the low spots and thins out on the high ones no matter how good the turf is, and a bed cut into unshaped ground fights drainage from the day it is planted.
Dirtwork is the stage that sets that shape before sod, beds or a hardscape project ever start, which is why it is treated as its own service here rather than a step folded quietly into something else.
